*Sarah and Aaron sit behind their news desk, the show's theme music fading before Sarah begins to speak.*

"Good evening, and welcome to VNN. As we did last time, we must apologize for the delay in broadcasts, as information has been coming from every direction and we've been unable to sort it out until now for a proper news broadcast."

*Aaron gives a small, nervous nod to Sarah's words before starting to speak.*

"If you remember in our previous broadcast, we had tried to interview the demon calling himself Aku, to little avail. All further attempts have been fruitless as well, as Aku has largely grown silent in light of current events, and his guards will not allow us near his tower.

The reason for Aku's silence is believed to be from the arrival of the angel Adam Kadmon, along with the Avatars that apparently work under him."

*Aaron shifts rather uneasily as he mentions the avatars, Sarah picking up where he left off.*

"We have yet to determine just how many of these Avatars work under Adam Kadmon, but they seem benevolant as a whole, two isolated incidents aside.

Many citizens also seem to be thankful for the fact that one of the confirmed Avatars, the Avatar of Order called Robo-Ky, has been keeping the gang of creatures known as the Piraka under surveillence. They'd proven to be very destructive beings upon arrival to Vertere, but incidents involving their activities dropped to zero upon arrival of the Avatars."

*Ever nervous, Aaron clears his throat and picked up where Sarah left off.*

"For those who do not know already, the apparent head of the Avatars has put out a notice of a curfew for the citizens of Vertere from 9pm to 5am for the duration of the next week. No reason was given, but no questions have been asked as to--"

*Aaron's words were cut off by what sounds like an explosion. Screams are heard from other areas of the building, both news anchors looking about in confusion. Seconds after the explosion, one of the walls of the studio crumbles as a black, metallic fist punches through it. The main camera swings around to catch everything that happens from here on.

Red eyes shine from inside the dust cloud as a double row of spines rise out of it. As the figure stood up, five other figures followed it out of the cloud of dust. The green and gold figure began speaking, an uncountable number of voices all seeming to speak at once.*

"Hello, citizens of Vetere. I am Zaktan, the leader of the Piraka, and I am here to deliver two messages to you all. The first, about the curfew the Avatars have imposed on us all."

*Zaktan waved the red piraka, Hakann, forward. Giving no protest, he stepped into full view of the camera, dragging one of the reasons for the curfew behind him with the claw half of his weapon. Tossing it in front of himself, the cameras focus on it for a few moments, revealing it to be a dead Pyramid Head. Again Zaktan's countless voices spoke as Thok and Vezok moved to cover the doors.*

"This is why we've been commanded to stay inside. These monsters and more like them have been released out into the city, most likely by the Avatars. The reason for this is probably because they have something to hide."

*Sarah starts shifting to personality 2 to protest at Zaktan's words until Avak points his weapon at her head, smirking as she quickly goes silent. Aaron, on the other hand, is sitting there and shaking like a leaf.*

"Now, I don't know what they have to hide, but that brings me to the second thing I wanted to say. We Piraka are not good, nor are we evil. We are mercenaries, and we need work. We don't care from who. We'll work for the Avatars or any citizen who can afford to hire us.

And... That is all."

*Zaktan's eyes narrow for a moment before a red flash fills the image, the gang's leader destroying all the cameras with his laser vision.*

*Sarah and Aaron sit behind a desk in a brand new studio with the latest equipment as well as comfortable furniture to make it a much more comfortable, yet, professional, setting. Sarah turns to face the camera and begins to speak.*

"Good afternoon, and welcome back to VNN. We apologize for the delay in broadcasts as we've been busy relocating to an area unpopulated by monsters as well as training a new crew to replace the ones that were eaten.

To recap the latest events of Vertere, on Wednesday, August 16th, a wave of monsters and other such atrocities swept through the city, leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. Many brave men and women gave their lives defending the city from this unexpected attack, and we would like to express our sympathy to the families of those who have lost a loved one. However, the monsters were detained and much of the damage has been repaired. People are still advised to take caution when traveling, especially at nighttime.

An attempt to interview AKU, LORD OF DARKNESS, by our network news crew ended with the equipment of the reporters exploding in their faces. The crew also seems to have disappeared. The last thing they said was something about 'The Pit of Hate.' We are still looking into the matter."

*Aaron gives a nervous smile and takes his turn reporting*

"Over the weekend, public displays of affection ran rampant through the city as people became suddenly eager to proclaim their... feelings for each other. *cough* The situation ended rather peacefully and quietly, though hospitals are reporting the amount of pregnancies have risen since that weekend."

*Sarah breaks in, leering at Aaron.*

"The amount of pornographic magazines and sexual devices sold has also gone up."

*Sarah continues to report, ignoring a furiously blushing and withering Aaron.*

"In more recent events, people have reported 'teleporting' to seemingly random locations over the weekend. While most everyone was returned back to their homes safely, a few still suffer from injuries, both physical and mental. At this moment, officials have nothing to say though assure Vertere is still a safe and perfect city to live in.

*Sarah Haras sits behind her desk. At her side is the novice reporter, Aaron Shaw. Both people look visibly shaken as well as very tired.*

"Good afternoon and welcome back to VNN. I'm Sarah Haras and this is my assistant, Aaron Shaw. In local news, a young Hispanic teenager possessing electric powers has been in the city stopping bank robberies, muggings, and other such crimes. While no name has been given yet, citizens around Vertere are thankful for this teenage superhero.

In other news, more and more people are being reported missing at night. Earlier this week, a record five people went missing. Police are scouring the city, but so far nothing has been found. Many people believe this is the doing of the vampires living in the city, but so far there is no proof. If you have any information about the missing people or potential causes, please contact the local police station.

However, while people are advised to be cautious, especially at nighttime, which appears to be when most of the disappearances happen, but city officials still insist Vertere is a safe city and there is nothing to worry about."

*Aaron turns to face the screen, looking quite pale from Sarah's report about missing people.*

"I-In more recent news, panic broke out in the city last Saturday as over half the city reported seeing strange hallucinations and reliving past n-nightmares. While the sudden panic has calmed down and the majority of people have recovered from the scare, several people have been hospitalized. So far there is no known cause behind the sudden scare, though people are looking into it.

Additionally, a large ship crashing into the city has caused additional panic and concern. While no one has been hurt, the situation is quite worrisome. We turn now to our news crew, which is on the scene."

( The Interview )

*The screen cuts back to the studio, where Sarah is resting her head on one hand, staring dreamily at Johnny. Aaron is poking her to get her to focus before finally giving up.*

"Thank you for the report. And that is all the news we have for today! W-we hope you enjoyed today's broadcast. Have a nice day, stay safe, and watchoutforvampires.

*Behind the desk is Sarah, looking generally ticked off and busy ranting to someone off screen. At her side is the nervous newscaster, trying to get her focus on and do the report, before sighing and starting it himself.*

"Um... Good afternoon everyone and welcome back to VNN. In today's news, the strange event that occurred over the weekend, dubbed "Siamese Twin Day" by many individuals seems to have ended and people are free to move around. However, individuals happened to be fused together by Vezon are not so fortunate. Doctors are currently attempting to figure out how to separate such individuals.

Now, in sports, the Vertere--"

*The news broadcast suddenly cuts away. All televisions in Vertere, no matter what's on, sudden cut to a screen filled by a dark, imposing being. His expression is flat for a few moments before his eyes narrow.*

"The time to sit by idly has come to an end. Now that things have calmed, it shall begin. I will claim dominion over this city, and this world, as I did my own.

I am the Sultan of Sorrow, the Deliverer of Darkness, I am AKU.

I am your new Master, and ALL shall bow to ME. The consequences for those who do not submit to my will shall be severe."

*The screen cuts away from Aku's image for a moment to show him destroying the city hall with his eye beams. Once the building is in ruins, it cuts back.*

"That was but a mere sampling of my power. Accept your new fate and serve me, or be destroyed."

*With that, the broadcast cuts out and programing continues as it normally would. Back in the station, people are trying to restore order while Sarah and the other reporter stare blankly before Sarah breaks the silence.*

"... What the [effing][Satan's domain] was that [manure] about?"

*The other reporter stares and blinks before falling over, passed out from shock*

*Seated behind the desk is Sarah Haras, once more dressed nicely. At her side is the young news reporter from the previous broadcast, looking quite nervous and fidgeting.*

"Good afternoon! I'm Sarah Haras, and you're watching VNN. In today's news, people all over the city have reported being stuck to another person. These reports indicate painful shocks are felt when the two move apart from each other, a reported distance of apparently six feet. Officials are looking into a potential cause for this phenomena while encouraging all people to remain calm.

*looks off-screen, quietly talking to someone before turning back*

"This just in, our field team has met up with a possible cause behind this situation! A person seen riding a large spider and wielding a spear has been seen fusing people and objects together. Our field team is with him now!"

*Cuts over to Vertere, where the field team is trying to avoid being fused together and failing miserably. In the background is Vezon, his spider, as well as a young man to avoid being hit by the spider. One of the reporters is trying his best to report while being fused to a lamp post*

"We're live in Vertere right now with Vezon. As you can see, we're in the quite the situation here. All attempts at an interview have been rejected and we're just-- OH GOD! THE SPIDER ATE THE CAMERAMAN! EVERYONE! RUN! RU-AFLKJSFD"

*The camera cuts out and it returns to the studio where both Sarah and the other reporter are just staring in disbelief.*

"... And that's all the news we have for today! This is VNN, signing off!"

*A sloppily dressed anchorwoman holding a bottle of beer and a surly expression across her face sits behind the desk, talking to someone off camera.

"... Yeah, whatever, I don't get his [effing] problem. The [illegitimate child] is a total son of a [pregnant female dog]. What? We're rolling? You [effing] [illegitimate children], why don't you tell me this sooner?!

*ahem* I'm Sarah Haras, anchorwoman for Vertere News Network, so listen up all you [illegitimate children]. So we have more people appearing in this city and reports of some vampires and sirens or some [manure] like that. Vampires? Siren? Who the [Satan's domain] believes in that kind of [manure]? Stuff of fairy tales, that's for sure. Anyway, officials say to not worry about that and provided they don't try to, you know, kill anyone, they're welcome to stay.

... What? They've already killed some people? [Effing][Satan's domain], what the [Satan's domain] are we doing here sitting around on our [rears]? Where are the [effing] crosses and holy water? Round up the posse, we have some [effing] monsters to hunt! Hey, what are you doing? Get away, we have monsters to go hunt down!

*The broadcast quickly cuts to a commercial break. When it returns, a young man is sitting in front of the desk while shouting and the sound of objects being turned over and thrown is heard in the background*

"Um... hi there. Oh wow, is this really live? This is the first time I've ever done a news cast, so I'm kinda nervous here. Oh.. what? Just read what's on the teleprompter? Um, all right. Welcome back to Vertere News Network, where we bring you the latest stories straight to you! We would like to say all humans, vampires, siren, dragons, undead zombies, and anything else that may be wandering the streets are all welcome here and shouldn't be afraid.

In weather, it looks like another bright and sunny week, with highs in the 80s and lows in the 75s. Low humidity and a slight breeze assures another perfect weekend.

Good afternoon, I'm Sarah Haras. In today's news, officials have reported a sudden growth in the city's population as well as a heightened state of confusion. While there are concerns the sudden population boom will result in issues with overcrowding and a lack of housing, officials believe there is plenty of space available for everyone. Additionally, the sudden boom will also help the economy.

There have been reports of zombies, vampires, and other anomalies wandering around town. While these reports have been verified and such things are wandering around Vertere, officials say there is no need for concern and they are welcome as anyone else.
